Cookie Policy

What we store on your device, why, and how you can control it.

Last updated: 24 October 2026Applies to: upaadhyay.com and the Upaadhyay platform

We keep tracking to a minimum. This page lists exactly what Upaadhyay stores in your browser, so you can decide what you are comfortable with.

1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Upaadhyay ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on upaadhyay.com. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies include your browser's local storage and session storage, which let a site remember information on your device. We mainly use browser storage rather than cookies.

2. The short version

  • We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
  • We store only what is needed to keep you signed in, remember your dashboard settings and count visits in a privacy-friendly way.
  • Our visit counter uses a random ID, does not store your IP address, and is switched off if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
  • You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings.

3. What we store on your device

Name / typePurposeWhere and how long
upaadhyay_sessionStrictly necessary. Keeps you signed in and identifies your account type (Faculty, Institution or admin) so we show you the right dashboard.Browser local storage. Removed when you log out; otherwise until it expires or you clear your browser data.
Dashboard settingsFunctional. Remember choices that make the site easier to use, such as the tab or view you last opened, saved candidates, and drafts of answers on a job page.Browser local storage. Stays until you clear your browser data or log out of shared devices.
upy_vidStatistics. A random visitor ID that lets us count unique visitors without knowing who you are.Browser local storage. Stays until you clear your browser data.
upy_sidStatistics. A random session ID that groups the pages you open in one visit and powers the "online now" count.Browser session storage. Removed when you close the tab or browser.

The visit statistics record the page you opened, your device type and browser, and the website that sent you to us. They do not include your name, email or IP address, and they are not collected in the admin area. Statistics older than about 180 days are deleted automatically.

4. Cookies from our hosting and security providers

Upaadhyay does not set advertising or tracking cookies. However, our hosting, security or content-delivery providers may set small strictly necessary cookies, for example to protect the site from attacks or to balance traffic. These do not identify you personally and are required for the site to work safely.

5. Third-party content

Some parts of the site load content from other services, for example web fonts from Google Fonts and some images from image-hosting providers. When your browser loads these, the provider receives technical information such as your IP address and browser type, as it would on any website. We do not control how they handle it. Please see their privacy policies for details. We do not use these services to track you across other sites.

If you follow a link to another website, such as an Institution's own site or our social media pages, that website's own cookie and privacy practices apply.

6. Do Not Track

If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal, our visit counter does not run and no visit statistics are recorded for you. The signal does not affect the storage needed to keep you signed in or to make the dashboards work.

7. How to manage or delete this data

  • In your browser: open your browser's settings and look for "Cookies and site data" or "Clear browsing data". You can delete data for upaadhyay.com only, or block storage for all sites.
  • By logging out: logging out removes your sign-in information from the device. Please do this on shared or public computers.
  • By turning on Do Not Track in your browser, to stop the visit counter.

Please note that if you block or clear the storage that keeps you signed in, you will have to log in again and some features may not work.

8. Changes to this policy

If we add new tools that use cookies or similar technologies (for example analytics or a chat widget), we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. Check the "Last updated" date above for the latest version.
